By using Kado (Food Health Analyzer), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

2. Service Description

Kado is a food product scanning and nutrition analysis application that allows users to:

Scan food product barcodes
Capture and analyze nutrition facts tables using OCR
Calculate personalized health scores based on nutrition data
Track food consumption history
Receive health insights and recommendations

All nutrition data processing occurs locally on your device or through secure cloud services for maximum privacy.

3. Data Sources & Limitations

Critical Data Information:

Primary nutrition data is sourced from Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org), a crowd-sourced public database
OCR technology extracts data from user-captured images; accuracy depends on image quality, lighting, and label clarity
Product formulations change frequently; database entries may be outdated or incomplete
We are not affiliated with Open Food Facts or product manufacturers
We explicitly disclaim responsibility for accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party data sources

4. User Responsibilities

You expressly agree to:

USE THIS APP STRICTLY FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY
NEVER use Kado for medical diagnosis, treatment decisions, allergy management, or managing medical conditions
VERIFY ALL CRITICAL INFORMATION (ESPECIALLY ALLERGENS) DIRECTLY ON PRODUCT PACKAGING BEFORE CONSUMPTION
Consult qualified healthcare professionals for dietary advice, allergy management, or medical nutrition decisions
Assume full responsibility for decisions made using app data
Report suspected data errors through the app's feedback system

5. Allergen & Medical Sensitivity Warning

CRITICAL SAFETY NOTICE:

KADO MUST NOT BE USED BY INDIVIDUALS WITH SEVERE ALLERGIES, INTOLERANCES, OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS WHERE INACCURATE INFORMATION COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HARM
The app DOES NOT detect "may contain traces of…" warnings, cross-contamination risks, or ingredients not explicitly listed in primary ingredient fields
Crowd-sourced databases frequently miss allergen declarations, regional variants, or manufacturing changes
OCR technology may misread critical allergen information due to label variations, fonts, or image quality
FAILURE TO VERIFY ALLERGEN INFORMATION DIRECTLY ON PRODUCT PACKAGING IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK

6. Subscription & Premium Features

Kado offers both free and premium features:

Basic scanning is available during the trial period
Premium features include extended operations and ad-free experience
Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
Refunds are subject to App Store/Google Play policies

Pricing:

Premium: $15/year – Individual custom scoring and advanced features
Premium Family: $40/year – Up to 4 personalized profiles with all premium features

7. Nutrition Information Accuracy

Explicit Limitations:

All nutrition data is provided "as is" without verification by Kado
Errors may occur due to: manufacturer formulation changes, database inaccuracies, OCR misreads, regional product variants, or user-submitted errors
Ingredient lists and allergen declarations require physical package verification
We recommend contacting manufacturers directly for critical allergen inquiries
Users bear full responsibility for verifying information affecting health decisions

8. Product Scoring Methodology & Limitations

Critical Scoring Disclaimers:

All product scores represent algorithmic evaluations based solely on publicly available nutrition data and general dietary guidelines
Scores reflect ONLY the output of our proprietary methodology and DO NOT constitute medical, scientific, regulatory, or professional judgments about product safety, quality, or suitability
Score interpretations (regardless of descriptive terminology used) relate exclusively to nutritional composition analysis and DO NOT imply a product is "unsafe," "unfit for consumption," or disparaging to the manufacturer
Scoring does NOT account for: individual health conditions, consumption context, cultural preferences, ethical considerations, or manufacturer-specific production practices
We provide analytical opinions based on data inputs and expressly disclaim scientific or regulatory authority
Manufacturers may possess additional context not reflected in scoring outputs

9. App Store Compliance

This app complies with App Store and Google Play guidelines:

No inappropriate content processing
Secure local and cloud data handling
Transparent privacy practices
Clear subscription terms
User data protection standards

10. Intellectual Property

The Kado app interface, scoring algorithm, and features are proprietary. Nutrition data is sourced from Open Food Facts under the Open Database License (ODbL). Open Food Facts is an independent third-party database not affiliated with or endorsed by Kado.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

KADO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT
GUARANTEES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF NUTRITION DATA
SUITABILITY FOR MEDICAL, ALLERGY-RELATED, OR CRITICAL HEALTH DECISIONS
UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
ADEQUACY OF PRODUCT SCORING FOR PERSONAL DIETARY NEEDS

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT USE OF THIS APP INVOLVES INHERENT RISKS AND YOU ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL DECISIONS MADE USING APP OUTPUT.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KADO AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

ANY HEALTH ISSUES, ALLERGIC REACTIONS, OR MEDICAL COMPLICATIONS ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON APP DATA
INACCURACIES IN NUTRITION INFORMATION FROM OCR ERRORS, DATABASE ERRORS, OR MANUFACTURER UPDATES
CLAIMS BY THIRD PARTIES (INCLUDING PRODUCT MANUFACTURERS) RELATED TO PRODUCT SCORING, REPUTATION, OR PERCEIVED DISPARAGEMENT
INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES
ANY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON APP SCORES OR DATA

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM USE OF KADO SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE APP (IF ANY) IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

14. Changes to Terms
